Michael Herrera, CBCP

CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER

Michael Herrera is the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of MHA. In his role, Michael provides global leadership to the entire set of industry practices and horizontal capabilities within MHA. Under his leadership, MHA has become a leading provider of Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery services to organizations on a global level. He is also the founder of BCMMETRICS, a leading cloud based tool designed to assess business continuity compliance and residual risk. Michael is a well-known and sought after speaker on Business Continuity issues at local and national contingency planner chapter meetings and conferences. Prior to founding MHA, he was a Regional VP for Bank of America, where he was responsible for Business Continuity across the southwest region.

  • David King
    David King Senior Advisory Consultant

    David King is one of MHA’s practice team leaders for Technology and Disaster Recovery related engagements. Prior to joining MHA, David was Senior Vice President and Chief Information Officer at Regal Entertainment Group (NYSE: RGC). He has also served as Senior Vice President and Chief Information Officer at PetSmart (NASDAQ: PETM) and Grupo Elektra/Salinas y Rocha (BMV: ELEKTRA; LATIBEX: XEKT; MEX: SYR), and has held a variety of other international and domestic senior executive level technology positions. As a technology and professional services executive, David has successfully led international business continuity, disaster recovery, technology, and data center related initiatives.

  • Richard Long
    Richard Long Senior Advisory Consultant

    Richard Long is one of MHA’s practice team leaders for Technology and Disaster Recovery related engagements. He has been responsible for the successful execution of MHA business continuity and disaster recovery engagements in industries such as Energy & Utilities, Government Services, Healthcare, Insurance, Risk Management, Travel & Entertainment, Consumer Products, and Education. Prior to joining MHA, Richard held Senior IT Director positions at PetSmart (NASDAQ: PETM) and Avnet, Inc. (NYSE: AVT) and has been a senior leader across all disciplines of IT. He has successfully led international and domestic disaster recovery, technology assessment, crisis management and risk mitigation engagements.

  • Gloria Sargent, CBCP
    Gloria Sargent, CBCP Senior Advisory Consultant

    Gloria Sargent is MHA’s practice team leader for Business Continuity Management related engagements. She has ensured the successful implementation of business continuity planning engagements in industries such as Financial, Risk Management, Government, Insurance, Utilities, Pharmaceutical and Healthcare. Prior to joining MHA, Gloria was a Director at American Express (NYSE: AXP) where she was responsible for managing the Business Continuity Management programs across North America, the United Kingdom and India. Gloria has successfully led domestic and international program management, crisis management, business recovery planning, and other risk mitigation engagements.

  • Katherine Jonelis
    Katherine Jonelis Director of Operations

    Katherine Jonelis is responsible for supporting various aspects of MHA’s enterprise-wide operations and client engagements. Prior to joining MHA, Katherine was the Business Continuity & Records Specialist at CopperPoint Mutual Insurance Company (fka SCF Arizona) where she was responsible for the management and oversight of the administration, maintenance, development and implementation of the Business Continuity Plan; as well as for the creation and management of the records management program, including evaluating records for retention and disposition purposes. Katherine is also a skilled administrative professional and copyeditor with over two decades of experience in a broad range of industries, including museum management and curatorial services. Katherine holds a master’s degree in History/Historic Resources Management from the University of California, Riverside and is a certified ABCP.

  • Colin Garrison
    Colin Garrison Senior Technical Writer

    Colin Garrison is responsible for supporting various MHA engagements through the production and editing of client technical documentation. Colin was a technical writer and editor at Microsoft for three years and has been a copy editor at the Seattle Times, the Seattle Post-Intelligencer, and the Mexico City News. He worked as an editor in New York City, at M Magazine and Chelsea House Publishers, and for a number of years was involved in the art world, selling art and writing copy for galleries in Santa Fe and Boston. A licensed Massachusetts English and Social Studies teacher, he graduated Phi Beta Kappa from Wesleyan University and has an MFA in Creative Writing from the University of Washington.

  • Susan Diehl-Brenits, CBCP
    Susan Diehl-Brenits, CBCP Advisory Consultant

    Susan Diehl-Brenits is responsible for leading MHA’s business continuity engagements. Susan is an experienced leader in developing plans, designing exercises and recommending strategies to improve resiliency in various industries. Before coming to MHA, Susan led the business continuity program at Con Edison in New York City, developing plans and conducting exercises. Susan received her master’s degree from John Jay College of Criminal Justice and her bachelor’s degree from Fordham University.

  • Heather Polk
    Heather Polk Advisory Consultant

    Heather Polk is responsible for leading and implementing Business Continuity Planning engagements for MHA. She brings over 25 years of Continuity Program development, execution, and management within industries as varied as financial, retail, manufacturing and distribution, communications, and government. Prior to joining MHA, Heather had held senior management positions in consulting and systems development businesses. She graduated with a bachelors degree from Stetson University and an MBA from University of South Florida.

  • Owen Pulliam
    Owen Pulliam Advisory Consultant

    Owen Pulliam is responsible for leading MHA’s corporate security engagements, including physical security, traveler security, executive protection and workplace violence programs. Prior to joining MHA, Owen held a variety of corporate security roles over a period of 16 years. Before entering the corporate arena, he spent 20 years in law enforcement in Texas. He has been a security leader for both small and large corporations. He recently retired from a Fortune 100 company as the Global Director for Physical Security, where his responsibilities included security assessments, investigations, travel security, guard contract management and electronic system (access control, CCTV) standardization for 130,000 employees and 1,200 facilities in over 90 countries.

  • Nikko Quiggins, CBCP
    Nikko Quiggins, CBCP Advisory Consultant

    Nikko Quiggins is responsible for supporting MHA’s business continuity, COOP and Emergency Management engagements. Nikko has 17 years of experience as a leader in developing plans, designing exercises and recommending strategies to improve resiliency. Before coming to MHA, Nikko led various business continuity related efforts within many airline, oil and government agencies.

    Ike Schneider Senior Advisory Consultant

    Ike Schneider is responsible for leading IT optimization and technology related engagements for MHA. Ike brings over 25 years of information technology experience to MHA client companies and organizations. Prior to joining MHA, Ike served in senior level IT positions for Hitachi Data Systems, Intuit, Restaurant Pro, Alliance Foodservice and Barclay’s Bank. Ike holds a master’s degree in Technology Management from the University of Phoenix and a bachelor’s degree in Mathematics from the University of Nebraska.
