MHA provided comprehensive emergency preparedness training for the individual Emergency Response Team’s (ERT’s) of each school in the township and district since the Sandy Hook shootings last December. In this Train the Trainer session, participants were provided with a daylong session on the basics of emergency management, the roles and responsibilities of their teams and a host of scenarios addressing evacuation, relocation, parent/child reunification and restoration of school operations. The training provided an opportunity for key school personnel with the knowledge to go back and train their fellow team members to respond to an unplanned event at their schools. ”We see the school ERT’s gaining critical education and knowledge on how to effectively respond to an incident at their schools, great progress is being made”, said Michael Herrera, CEO of MHA Consulting.
